Garden Route
The Garden Route, the name so frequently used to describe the beautiful Southern Cape costal area lying between the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua/Tsitsikamma mountain ranges, from the Groot Brak river in the west to the Storms River in the east.
An evergreen vegetation area with running rivers, lakes, estuaries and lagoons, add to this the mountains, a profusion of flowering plants and the largest areas of indigenous forests in South Africa, a temperate Meditteranean type climate and the term Garden Route becomes self-explanatory.
