Route 62
Route 62, the scenic alternate gateway to and from the Garden Route and Port Elizabeth, enjoying the unexpected pleasures of the Breede River Valley. This road meanders through small farming towns of Calitzdorp, the historic Amalienstien and the fruit growing areas and wine producing towns of Barrydale, Montague, Bonnievale, McGregor and Tulbach, to name but a few beautifully preserved villages situated in wealthy farming communities.
The Little Karoo (small desert), linked to the Garden Route is now arid, and one of the most amazing examples of a landscape fashioned entirely by water.
Outshoorn, the ostrich capital of the cape, is the gateway to the famed Cango Caves and offers ample opportunity to visit the exciting ostrich farms in the area.
